Should we put wax over a ceramic coating?

It is dependent on your requirements. Wax may still be applied to ceramic. But we would recommend routine cleaning, garage storage, and using a high-grade SiO2 ceramic booster spray on top of your coating have all been shown to be the most effective forms of protection.

Why is Ceramic coating better than wax?

Ceramic Coating provides several advantages for both old and new vehicles. Here are some of the many benefits of Ceramic Coating, a paint protection technology that has been proven to last for years.

Prevents Damage to the car’s paint from environmental factors.

Ceramic coating forms a solid, protective barrier on your car’s surface, keeping extraneous particles from damaging it. It can shield your automobile’s paint from direct sunshine and UV radiation, which can cause fading and oxidation.

Easy to clean

Because of the hydrophobic qualities of ceramic coating, dirt and debris roll off the surface rather than remaining trapped within your vehicle’s microscopic pockets. Your cars paint lasts longer, repels water, and when it does need to be washed, removing all that filth takes considerably less time and work!

Give a high-gloss sheen.

Ceramic coating preserves your vehicle’s surface and provides a lovely, mirror-like top layer for everybody to appreciate. It will bring out the finest in your original paint job, leaving your car looking like new!

Cure and Layering Time Of Ceramic Coating.

Cure time

Ceramic coatings require a 24-hour cure period before they may be exposed to the outside elements and water. Most importantly no detergent be used for 4 – 7 days following treatment. Coatings typically take 1 to 2 weeks to cure fully.

Layering time

Coatings often require a second layer to be applied within 30 – 60 minutes to bind with the first layer.

When the coatings dry and cure, they become more hydrophobic. If you try to put another layer on top of a coating after a few days, it will simply “reject” it, wasting your effort. Most coatings can operate with two coats, although this may vary based on the customer’s needs.
